DP3 Architects Selected to Provide Design Services for a New Fire Station for the City of Florence, SC

DP3 Architects, Ltd. was selected as part of a Design-Build team with Mashburn Construction Company to provide design and construction administration services for a new fire station for the City of Florence. The new facility will be 7,800 square feet.

The new facility will be located on East Redbud Lane in Florence, SC. The station is currently scheduled to be completed and operational by March 2011.

DP3 Architects Selected to Provide Design Services for ReWA in the Historic Pelham Mills Office

DP3 Architects, Ltd. has been selected by ReWA to provide design services for renovations, repairs, and restoration of the historic 1890’s Pelham Mills office building. The mill was a cotton factory located on the Enoree River and operated under several different owners between 1820 until 1935. The mill complex burned in 1943. The office is the only piece of the mill that remains intact. The mill site was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987, and according to the registration form, offers the most significant archeological content of any antebellum mill in Greenville County.

DP3 Architects Selected to Provide Design Services for the Blackville Area Heritage Museum

DP3 Architects, Ltd. has been selected by the Blackville Area Historical Society to provide concept and design services for the Blackville Area Heritage Museum. The museum, neighboring the site of the historic Shamrock Hotel in Blackville, SC, will encompass approximately 2,000 square feet of floor area, providing space for the main exhibition hall and support spaces.

DP3 Architects, Ltd. was selected to provide design services for Lab 21, Inc., to be located within the new NEXT Innovation Center in downtown Greenville, SC. Lab 21 is a high-tech, advanced diagnostics lab focusing on oncology and infectious disease. The company will work with hospitals throughout the state and region.

Meg Terry, AIA LEED AP has been elected to the American Institute of Architects State Board and is serving the first of a three year term in charge of External Communications.

Meg, an Associate with DP3 Architects, is the Studio Leader for 3 Degrees Studio which specializes in the design of higher education projects. She is the Architect in charge of the DiGiorgio Campus Center at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. The studio is also providing services to USC Upstate and to South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind in Spartanburg, SC on the Herbert Center project.

DP3 Architects, Ltd. is pleased to announce the addition of Amanda Carter, LEED AP to the firm. Amanda is a 2010 graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology with a Masters of Architecture and a 2008 graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture. She joins the firm as an intern architect and design team member in the 3 Degrees studio that specializes in higher education facility design.

DP3 Architects Provided Design Services for a New Subway Restaurant on Augusta Street

DP3 Architects has recently completed the design for a new Subway restaurant on Augusta Road. The 1,400 square foot, brick building features a 2 story dining space giving the building prominent street frontage. This new project replaces the existing Subway previously located on the site of the first Subway in Greenville and adds a drive through for better convenience. The design incorporates sustainable features such as water saving plumbing fixtures, LED exterior lighting, and proper building orientation to reduce heat gain within the space. The new urban design is anticipated to be adapted to future locations.

Darden Restaurants, Inc., headquartered in Orlando, FL, is the world’s largest company-owned and operated restaurant company with more than 1,700 restaurants including Red Lobster, Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse, and Bahama Breeze. DP3 Architects provides design services for the Red Lobster, Longhorn, and Bahama Breeze brands.

DP3 Architects, Ltd. has been selected by Winthrop University to provide design services under an Indefinite Delivery Contract. The firm will provide design services for renovations, repairs, maintenance, and new construction for various projects within the Winthrop campus located in Rock Hill, SC.

DP3 Architects presented the SC Historic Preservation 2010 Honor Award for the Restoration and Renovation of Historic Westminster Train Depot

DP3 Architects, Ltd. was presented a South Carolina Historic Preservation 2010 Honor Award by the Palmetto Trust for Historic Preservation, the South Carolina Department of Archives and History, and the Office of the Governor for renovation and restoration of the historic Westminster Train Depot. The Honor Award celebrates successful and exemplary historic preservation projects from around South Carolina.

When the depot was nearly destroyed by fire in January 2006, its viability was questioned. Through the concerted efforts of many in and around Westminster, the decision was made to restore the depot, allowing it to regain its prominence in the history of Westminster.
