DP3 Architects, Ltd. receives an American Institute of Architects design award for Pleasant Ridge Camp and Retreat Center

DP3Architects, Ltd. is pleased to announce that the firm has been presented an Honor Award from theSouth Carolinachapter of the American Institute of Architects for the design of Pleasant Ridge Camp andRetreatCenter. 

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Honor Award is the profession’s highest recognition of works that exemplify excellence in architecture, interior architecture and urban design.

This project was also awarded a Wood Design Award earlier in 2011 by the Wood Products Council.  The Wood Design Awards recognize and celebrate buildings that display innovative applications of wood design highlighting its strength, beauty, versatility, and cost effectiveness while displaying a commitment to reducing environmental impact.

Pleasant Ridge Camp and RetreatCenteris a year round facility developed by the Greenville County Recreation District for a wide range of groups and uses and is most notable for its annual hosting of CampSpearheadand CampCourage. CampSpearheadoffers weekend and week-long camp events for youth and adults with special needs and disabilities.  CampCourageis a summer camp program that creates an unforgettable recreational experience for children and teens with cancer or blood disorders from the Upstate of South Carolina, western North Carolina, and Northeast Georgia.
