Client: City of Mauldin
- Location:
- Mauldin, South Carolina
- DP3 Architects performed a feasibility study for conversion of the old Mauldin Elementary School property for use as a new Cultural Center and quickly uncovered a need for the development of a new downtown vision for the City of Mauldin.
Mauldin does not have a true “downtown” but is instead located at a crossroads of two major roads. The Cultural Center is expected to be the catalyst for future development in this area. The site’s adjacency to the existing City Hall creates opportunities for expanded development of this area extending toward Main Street. The proposed development would include future civic, commercial and retail sites as well as the potential for creating a traditional “Town Square” fronting Main Street….a key component to developing a downtown identity for the City of Mauldin.
