- DP3 Architects provided services to design a new 6,200 SF prototype restaurant with full-service kitchen and bar. The floor plan is organized as a series of activity areas along a main corridor starting at the main entrance. The design is based on the traditional colors found in Mexican architecture and Mexican Muralists Artworks. The interior architecture is a mix of clean wall line details and color accents that give the restaurant an elegant, festive atmosphere. One of the main features of the restaurant is a 250 SF mural that depicts a scene of pre-Hispanic Mexican culture. The bar is made up of rich dark wood colors and colored concrete that translate into the rest of the woodwork throughout the building. A cedar wood trellis and a traditional clay tile roof dominate the entrance façade. The restaurant seats 218 patrons including seating at a separate bar dining area. The combination of color and simple architectural lines with traditional finish materials create a modern and upscale atmosphere reminiscent of Mexico and its cuisine.
