Greenville Technical College Academic Bldg Feasibility Study
DP3 Architects provided services for an academic building feasibility study to support the college’s academic mission of creating state-of-the-art, collaborative learning while providing opportunities for student engagement. The study included programming and layout for 20 physical science laboratories with storage and prep areas. Laboratory equipment needs and ventilation requirements were specifically addressed. Detailed programming for labs included lab equipment and specialty furniture.
Strategically, the goal of the study was to recommend a new facility which will inspire teaching, learning, innovation and student success. The DP3 Architects design team and the Greenville Technical College leadership team met on several occasions to discuss space needs for facility. The result was a comprehensive six-part program including academic advancement, arts & sciences, health science division, economic development & corporate training, common spaces, and mechanical/electrical/information technology. Laboratory spaces accounting for 27,600 square feet of space will include 3 chemistry, 2 physics, and 15 biology.
