Serenity Village Children’s Therapeutic Services Center
DP3 Architects is providing master planning and design services for the renovation of the Women’s Residential Facility (Serenity Place) and construction of transitional housing to support a Family Recovery Complex.
Serenity Place is a residential treatment center for pregnant women, young mothers, and their preschool-age children. Residential treatment is intensive, for a minimum of 50 hours per week, and daily life is structured with a focus on parenting and positive family and independent living skills. DP3 is doing the following to enhance the mission of Serenity Place:
Additions and Renovations to Existing Treatment Facility – A new treatment wing is being added including small- and large-group rooms with a central observational room. Existing resident suites are reconfigured to create more space, giving way for women with more than 2 children to enter the program. A new fitness room and great room expansion is part of the renovation.
Transitional Housing Duplexes – DP3 is providing design services for three transitional housing duplexes. Each unit has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The duplexes are designed to fit in with the language of the surrounding architecture and will house women and children who have completed the program.
Employment and Education Center (EEC) – The EEC will house the Women and Children Succeeding program which focuses on helping women complete their education and find employment.
Children’s Therapeutic Services Center – The building will provide a place for children (aged 6 weeks old to 5 years) who come from homes of substance abuse to receive special care to promote healthy development which may have been inhibited by their current environment.
