Posted on September 30, 2025

DP3 Architects is proud to announce that two of its fire station projects have been recognized in the 2025 F.I.E.R.O. Fire Station Design Awards. The program celebrates design excellence and innovation in fire and emergency services facilities nationwide. Submissions are evaluated on functionality, sustainability, community integration, and architectural design.

Taylors Fire Headquarters | Merit Award

Serving as the central hub for Taylors Fire and Rescue, this new headquarters consolidates operations into a single, modern facility designed for efficiency, safety, and community visibility. The station includes four apparatus bays, administrative offices, a training room, and firefighter living quarters. The design prioritizes durability, daylighting, and long-term adaptability while reflecting the department’s commitment to service.

Simpsonville Fire Headquarters | Recognition Award

The Simpsonville Fire Headquarters is a state-of-the-art facility that supports both administrative functions and emergency response. Featuring three drive-through apparatus bays, offices, training spaces, and firefighter living accommodations, the headquarters is designed to enhance operational readiness while creating a civic presence for the growing community. Its thoughtful layout improves response times and fosters collaboration among staff.

“We are thankful that F.I.E.R.O. has chosen to recognize these two stations in South Carolina for their excellence in design, construction, and civic pride by a jury of architects and fire service professionals from across the country. These stations exemplify the vital role that fire stations play in supporting the daily operations of our first responders and the positive impact that they can have on our communities”, says DP3 Architects’ Principal and COO, Michael Pry, AIA.

In addition to the award recognition, DP3 Architects had the privilege of hosting a tour of the new Simpsonville Fire Headquarters during this year’s F.I.E.R.O Conference programming. The firm is grateful for the opportunity to connect with first responder professionals and the civic-focused design community.

DP3 Architects Earns Three Honors in SC Biz News “Top Projects” Awards

Posted on September 25, 2025

DP3 Architects is pleased to announce that three of its projects have been selected by SC Biz News as 2025 Top Projects Award winners. The recognition honors excellence in construction and architectural work across South Carolina during the past year.

Oconee Hall

The renovation and expansion of Oconee Hall at Tri-County Technical College (TCTC) in Pendleton, SC, is a project designed to meet the evolving needs of students, faculty, and staff. The project increased the facility’s size by 44%, growing from 34,000 square feet to 49,000 square feet. The revitalized Oconee Hall, originally opened in 1980, is now ready to serve TCTC for another generation of learners.

Taylors Fire Headquarters

Replacing the previous headquarters built in 1980, the new station is located prominently at the intersection of Wade Hampton Boulevard and Main Street, serving as the new gateway to the heart of Taylors, SC. This state-of-the-art facility was designed to serve both the growing operational needs of the fire department and the broader Taylors community.

Simpsonville Municipal Center

DP3 Architects partnered with the City of Simpsonville to design a new Municipal Complex that serves as a symbol of civic pride and a catalyst for continued community growth. The complex brings together essential city services on one campus, including Simpsonville’s new City Hall, Police Department, Fire Station Headquarters, and Magistrate and Municipal Court. The collocation of these departments improves operational efficiency and provides a more accessible and welcoming experience for residents and visitors.

SC Biz News Top Projects honorees will be recognized during an online video celebration on September 30th and in the print edition of SC Biz News and on SCBizNews.com. These awards affirm our ongoing commitment to designing community spaces that not only meet functional needs, but also enhance identity, foster connection, and uplift quality of life in the Upstate. We are excited to continue designing projects that invite, inspire, and invigorate the people that work, live, and play in the spaces we create.

The Daniel Debut

Posted on September 3, 2025

DP3 Architects is proud to celebrate the ribbon cutting of The Daniel, a revitalized 25-story landmark in the heart of downtown Greenville. Originally opened in 1967 by Charles E. Daniel’s Daniel International Corp., the building remains the tallest on Greenville’s skyline at 305 feet.

Working alongside local investors led by Dunean Capital Management, Harper General Contractors, and SeamonWhiteside, our team reimagined this renovation to honor the building’s history while positioning it for the future. Enhancements include a mid-century modern inspired lobby and bar featuring warm wood tones and brass accents, as well as an outdoor plaza with new seating, landscaping, and lighting to encourage walkability and connection downtown.

The rebranding to its original name, The Daniel, honors Charles Daniel’s vision for Greenville’s economic transformation. This project reflects both a respect for its history and a forward-looking investment in our city’s continued growth.
