Civic Design Center
Greenville, SC
Located just off Main Street, the center brings together urban planning, landscape architecture, and development services in a space designed to make the planning process more transparent and approachable.
DP3 Architects designed the space to function as both a workplace and a public engagement space. Flexible areas support project preview meetings, seminars, one-on-one consultations, and community engagement, while dedicated display areas allow visitors to explore 3D models, planning initiatives, and proposed development projects.

Designed for Collaboration
The design balances professional workspaces with an inviting public-facing environment, creating a natural setting for conversation and collaboration between City staff and the community.

The Vision
A key focus of the design is creating a space that communicates Greenville’s approach to thoughtful, intentional growth. The center provides a physical platform for initiatives such as GVL2040 and the Downtown Design Guidelines, allowing residents to better understand how planning and design decisions shape the city.
By bringing information, expertise, and public engagement together in one accessible location, the Civic Design Center serves as a hub for civic dialogue and a connection between Greenville’s planning efforts and the people they impact.
