Serenity Place
Greenville, SC
DP3 Architects provided master planning and design services for the renovation of the Women’s Residential Facility (Serenity Place), a new children’s therapeutic services center, and the construction of transitional housing to support a Family Recovery Complex for The Phoenix Center. Serenity Place is a residential treatment center for pregnant women, young mothers, and their preschool-age children. Residential treatment is intensive, for a minimum of 50 hours per week, and daily life is structured with a focus on parenting and positive family and independent living skills
The project included the addition of a new treatment wing with small- and large-group rooms organized around a central observational space, along with renovations to existing resident suites that increased flexibility and accommodated women with more than two children. A new fitness room and an expanded great room enhanced shared spaces that supported wellness and community. DP3 also designed three transitional housing duplexes, each with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, thoughtfully scaled and detailed to reflect the surrounding architectural character and to serve women and children transitioning out of the program.
The campus further included an Employment and Education Center that supported the Women and Children Succeeding program by providing resources for education completion and job readiness, as well as a Child Therapeutic Services Building that provided specialized care for children from infancy through age five, promoting healthy development in a safe, nurturing environment.
