Hospitality Studio Leader

Michael Zibert, AIA

A combined interest in technology, creativity, and all the best toys geared toward building things, led Mike to a career in architecture. A graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies, Mike enjoys having the opportunity to design structures that could have a positive impact on people’s lives, while at the same time fulfilling his major interests. After many years of honing his craft in commercial and residential architecture, Mike joined DP3 Architects, drawn to the sincere and consistent culture of leadership that the firm displayed.

Originally from the north—Peoria, Illinois to be exact—Mike was pulled south for work and fell in love with the features of the area. He enjoys spending time with his family in addition to woodworking, fishing, and hiking.

John Dunham

John graduated from Clemson University in 1994 with a bachelor’s degree in design and is now an Associate with the firm. He joined DP3 in 1997, and plays a critical role in historical renovations. He is currently using his talents as part of the Hospitality Studio.

The Westminster Train Depot remains a favorite of John’s. With the building having extensive fire damage, John’s team used period-specific elements to restore the 100-year-old building near to its original design.  The space is now a vibrant part of the community, housing the local Chamber of Commerce.

John is an avid cyclist and rides whenever he has the chance. He has plenty of long rides under his belt, but none are more fulfilling than a ride he took from San Francisco to Washington D.C. to raise money for Push America, a charity dedicated to helping the disabled.

Higher Education Studio Leader

Kunal Patel, AIA

From an early age, Kunal was inspired by the idea of place making; how buildings define a place, how people use a space, and how each is unique and adaptable. His gateway to defining the environment around him was a career in architecture.

A graduate from Clemson University with a Master of Architecture and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture, Kunal brings ambition, fresh ideas, and an open mind to the firm where he is currently an Associate and the Higher Education Studio Leader.

Originally from Ontario, Canada, Kunal made his way to the States, eventually landing in the Upstate. The plush greens and battery-driven carts of a nearby golf course are where you will find Kunal in his spare time.

Community Studio Leader

Rhonda White

Rhonda has been with DP3 Architects since 1993, shortly after receiving her bachelor’s degree from Clemson University in 1991.  She was drawn to architecture through a love of building things, which she attributes to time with her dad doing projects as she was growing up.

Rhonda enjoys being a part of the community studio at DP3 Architects and has a passion for well-connected spaces and architectural forms that engage and fascinate people as they experience life in their community.

Outside of work her favorite activities include time spent with family, singing, and being outdoors.

Associate

Interiors Studio Leader

Anna King, AIA, LEED AP

Anna received her Master of Architecture in 2001 from Clemson University and joined DP3 shortly thereafter. She is now an Associate at the firm and the Interiors Studio Leader, working on interior design of office, community, higher education, and hospitality projects.

Outside of work, Anna spends time with her husband and three children who keep them busy with school work, sports, and extracurricular activities.

Associate

Multi-Unit Studio Leader

Kevin Wienke, AIA

Kevin always had a natural fascination for design. This passion took him to Clemson, where he graduated with a Master of Architecture in 2001.  Shortly thereafter, he started at DP3 and is currently an Associate with the firm and the Multi-Unit Studio Leader.

Kevin still considers DiGiorgio Campus Center at Winthrop University as one of his favorite projects. His canopy design was a crucial element as it created a focal point over the frequently-enjoyed Community Concourse.  Experiences like this in the higher ed studio are now serving him well as a restaurant studio leader designing new prototypes for some of the country’s most popular dining spots.

At home, he is busy keeping up with the demanding sports schedules of two boys, often coaching flag football and soccer. When he can, he pencils in some time for a round of golf.
