Greenville Summit

Greenville, SC

A longstanding part of Greenville’s urban fabric, the Greenville Summit has served many roles throughout its history

THE STORY

Originally opened in 1912 as the Imperial Hotel, it stood as a symbol of the city’s emerging commercial growth. In more recent decades, the building has provided affordable housing for seniors, continuing its legacy of service to the community. This project has brought life back to this once forgotten place. JE Properties purchased the Greenville Summit building with the hope of improving the building without public funding and keeping the apartments affordable. The relocated entrance, the renovated lobby, and the reconfigured activity area on the lower level give the seniors that now live here a place to be proud of.
