Inland Port Greer

South Carolina Ports
Greer, SC

SC Ports is a top 10 US container port, supporting 1 in 10 South Carolina jobs and generating an annual economic impact of $63.4 billion statewide. Inland Port Greer, located in Upstate South Carolina, extends the Port of Charleston’s reach 212 miles inland via rail, enabling the efficient movement of goods for customers throughout the region.

Following unprecedented growth that exceeded its original five-year plan, Inland Port Greer partnered with DP3 Architects to support its expanding operational needs. The completed project includes a new 7,830-square-foot Terminal Operations Building (TOB), an 11,055-square-foot Heavy Lift Maintenance Building (HLMB), and a new North Chassis Lot.

The Terminal Operations Building, located outside the security gate, houses port personnel and features a rooftop terrace which offers a unique vantage point overlooking the entire operations. The Heavy Lift Maintenance Building was specifically designed to accommodate oversized container lifts, specialized equipment, and maintenance staff.

Both buildings were designed to be easily expanded to accommodate future planned growth for the campus. Together, these improvements position Inland Port Greer for continued growth while enhancing operational efficiency and supporting a resilient supply chain.
