Operations Center Campus

Town of Fort Mill, SC

DP3 Architects is partnering with the Town of Fort Mill, SC to design a new Operations Center Campus that will support the town’s continued growth and evolving infrastructure needs.

Public works and related departments have historically been dispersed across multiple sites throughout the town, including the historic 1938 armory, and this new campus outside of the downtown corridor will consolidate operations into one location to reduce inefficiencies and improve overall service delivery.

The 33-acre campus is designed to improve efficiency, organization, and long-term functionality for municipal services. The program includes a 17,000 SF Administration Office Building, a 14,000 SF Fleet Maintenance Building, a 16,900 SF Warehouse, nearly 39,000 SF of covered and enclosed fleet parking across four structures, as well as a new Vehicle Wash Building and Covered Fueling Station.

Designed with an industrial modern approach, the campus prioritizes durability, efficiency, and long-term performance, with materials selected for a 50-year lifecycle. Thoughtful site planning separates pedestrian and heavy equipment circulation, creating a safer and more functional environment for staff while minimizing impacts on surrounding neighborhoods.

The new Operations Center Campus reflects Fort Mill’s continued growth, more than doubling in population over the past decade, and positions the town to deliver essential services more efficiently, safely, and sustainably for years to come.
