The Daniel

Greenville, SC

Formerly known as the Landmark Building, this 25-story office tower was rebranded as The Daniel in honor of its founder, Charlie Daniel, whose construction company, Daniel International Corp., originally built the structure in 1966. The building marked the beginning of a new era of modern office towers in South Carolina. Its impressive height and bold design elevated Greenville’s skyline to rival those of larger cities. Today, The Daniel  continues to shape the identity of downtown Greenville, providing an anchor to the north end of Main Street.

With a new name, there was a renewed vision for the space. The refreshed lobby features a mid-century modern aesthetic with warm wood tones and brass accents, paying homage to the building’s history while bringing it into the present. Sculptural lighting overhead adds a contemporary edge while maintaining a sense of timeless elegance. The redesigned plaza introduces new seating, landscaping, and lighting that connect the building to Greenville’s vibrant cultural corridor, inviting people to gather, linger, and engage.

The transformation of The Daniel celebrates both its past and its role as a centerpiece of Greenville’s evolving downtown, offering a space that is as welcoming as it is iconic.
