Train Depot Exhibition Hall

Greenwood County, SC

DP3 Architects is partnering with Greenwood County on the design of a new replica train passenger depot to serve as an exhibition hall and event center for the Railroad Historical Center. The project reimagines the 20th century Southern Passenger Depot, a symbol of small-town economic growth and vitality during the early 1900s.

Located at 906 Main Street South in Greenwood, SC, the Exhibition Hall will serve as both a museum and an event space, creating an immersive experience that honors the region’s rail heritage, complete with the signature yellow and green paint that the Southern Passenger Depots were known for.

DP3 Architects has had the privilege of restoring three Southern Passenger Depots across South Carolina, each project reinforcing the historical significance of rail travel in the South. This new Exhibition Hall builds upon that legacy, bridging the past with the present to preserve history while providing a dynamic new space for the community.
