The Chop House Prototype

Connor Concepts
Alcoa, TN

DP3 Architects is proud to partner with Connor Concepts for The Chop House on the design of a new prototype as part of the brand’s broader rebranding and expansion efforts. The Alcoa, Tennessee location, which recently broke ground, marks the first application of the new prototype, with additional renovations planned throughout the Southeast.

Founded in 1992 by Mike Connor, The Chop House has grown into one of the Southeast’s premier casual dining concepts. With ten locations across three states, the brand is known for its service, menu, and commitment to delivering a superior dining experience in a relaxed and inviting atmosphere.

This new prototype represents a full reimagining of the guest experience. The design is crafted to elevate what current fans love about The Chop House while also expanding the brand’s appeal to a broader and younger audience.

The exterior of the restaurant features a combination of materials that convey the brand’s new look and feel. With an entry tower and a blend of wood, metal, and brick, the restaurant retains the character of a traditional steakhouse while introducing modern design elements that elevate the overall brand.

The restaurant’s interior complements the exterior with refined finishes and design elements that add some luxury to the experience, including the leather strap feature wall at the host stand. This divider not only designates the entry way but also allows guests to see the variety of seating options available. Bar seating, booths, small tables, and large party tables are seamlessly integrated throughout the floor plan, allowing the space to transition from day to night and accommodate a range of dining styles, from casual business lunches to intimate dinners.

The space’s understated elegance and inviting ambiance are achieved through a combination of large windows that fill the interior with natural light, exposed ceilings that open the space, and polished concrete floors that give a refined edge. Balancing these warm, natural surfaces are more luxurious materials, including gold accents and lit metal mesh light accents. The result is a space that is both timeless and forward-thinking, aligning with The Chop House’s goals for future growth and guest engagement.

DP3 Architects looks forward to supporting the continued expansion of The Chop House and shaping environments that reflect the evolving needs of its guests and brand.
