Mac’s Speed Shop

The 5,600-square-foot Mac’s Speed Shop, located in the historic West End of Greenville, SC adds to the renewal of this once-forgotten area of the city. The goal of the project was to accentuate the historic architecture of the existing building while adding features that not only gave restaurant queues to the public, but allowed the owners to distinguish their brand.

The Main Street facade maintains its original character but has been enhanced with new signage, an industrial entry feature mimicking the building’s heritage as a warehouse, and an outdoor patio. The design strategies used on the building exterior are replicated inside the space; historic brick walls, the original roof structure, and exposed concrete floors maintain the original character of the building.
