Michael T. Pry is Named a Principal of the Firm

Posted on January 20, 2021

When Mike Pry joined DP3 Architects nearly 20 years ago, he knew he had found his forever home. Initially starting as a Project Architect, he quickly assumed the role as the leader of the firm’s Community Studio, a role he has maintained ever since; and in 2015, he was named a Senior Associate with the firm.

Mike has always lived by two overarching philosophies—do common things in an uncommon way, and always look for the extraordinary in the ordinary. At DP3 Architects, he found a firm that shared these values.

The business of architecture is about more than just designing buildings, it is about guiding clients in developing a vision for their project, finding new ways to enhance the way they operate, and ultimately creating a building which will improve the community around it. Over the years, Mike Pry has watched the firm leadership constantly strive to go the extra mile to assist their clients from the initial project conception to the turnover of keys.

Brian Thomas, Principal at DP3 Architects says, “We are thrilled to name Mike Pry a principal.  He has been one of our most dedicated team members over his 20-year career at the firm and has earned a very high level of respect from both our clients and our team members. His leadership will allow us to continue to grow while upholding our commitment to service and response.”

As Principal, Mike looks forward to continuing the firm’s proud tradition and to expanding his role as a mentor to those just beginning their journey in the profession by helping them imagine new ways of providing architectural services to ultimately improve the community in which we live and work.

DP3 Architects, Ltd. Relocates to Accommodate Growth

Posted on July 28, 2017

DP3 Architects, Ltd. is pleased to announce they will relocate to new office space to accommodate the growing firm. The architecture and interior design firm will be moving to the Wells Fargo Center in the heart of downtown Greenville, SC. The move, set to occur December 2017, will be a notable change after being in their current 1890’s Greenville Gas and Electric Light Company building, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, for 17 years.

J. Michael Taylor, Managing Principal said, “After a three-year search for the right space, we are thrilled with the location, flexibility, and opportunity for growth that the Wells Fargo Center provides.” DP3 Architects is designing the new space at 15 South Main Street, taking conventional office space and transforming it into an unconventional collaborative workplace. “Our new office space is 30 percent larger than our current office and will offer fresh and trend-setting design, open layout that encourages a collaborative work model, and cutting-edge technology. The space will support our continued growth and provide an inspiring work environment for current and future team members.” said Meg Terry, Principal and VP of Business Development.

DP3 Architects has also been retained by building owner, Caprocq Greenville, LLC; brokerage and property management services, Colliers International; and project management services, LCK to design innovative and modern spaces throughout the building. The redevelopment will include a dramatic facelift to the main lobby and each floor lobby. Onsite retail and restaurants will receive new exposed storefront entrances and a proposed news stand will feature daily conveniences for tenants; transforming the atmosphere from office building to mixed-use centerpiece. “The Wells Fargo Center is a premier downtown building in the center of Main Street. The new 21st century renovations will create an engaging environment for both current and new tenants,” said David Feild, Market President of Colliers International’s office in Greenville, “We are thrilled to have DP3 Architects not only design the renovation, but occupy the building as a high-profile tenant.”

Creating connections…building better hometowns

Cities and towns have multiple “lines of business” that may be as diverse as fire service and finance or personnel and parks. All intersect with one another and create connect points to the daily lives of the people who live and work in our hometowns. Hometown leaders have the responsibility to coordinate these services and cultivate these connections to make their cities and towns great places for residents, businesses and visitors.

The Annual Meeting also offers connect points for those who attend. It is the place where ideas, best practices, inspiring speakers and attendees come together to collaborate, learn from one another and be infused with new energy and enthusiasm for public service.

What better place to be inspired than in Charleston and the Lowcountry, where a respect for the area’s rich history and natural resources intersects with innovative ideas and quality public service.
